THE OVERVIEW

a real problem.

I designed and built TekHub from the ground up as the flagship product of Tekflix: a multi-tenant workspace for small teams and agencies to manage people, projects, leave, expenses, invoices, and payroll.

01 / THE CHALLENGE

What needed to change.

Small teams often manage people and finances across disconnected tools. TekHub needed a coherent workspace with strict organization boundaries, flexible permissions, and payroll that could accommodate multiple currencies.

02 / THE APPROACH

Decisions that mattered.

  • Separated a Rails 8 API from a React interface, backed by PostgreSQL.
  • Built organization-level data isolation and role-based experiences with Pundit and Rolify.
  • Designed payroll around compensation profiles, allowances, deductions, salary history, and downloadable payslips.
  • Used Solid Queue for background jobs, Sentry for monitoring, and Docker for deployment.
03 / THE OUTCOME

What shipped.

Shipped a production platform spanning 20+ data models and 30+ application screens. The product brings operational workflows into one place, with dedicated admin, manager, and employee experiences.
